Applying good design rules to your blog
Written by Tony Robinson
While building your blog you might be tempted on giving him the best face you can. You can find many free tools for blogs, but this doesn’t mean that you have to use all of them. I am sure you would wish a visitors counter, animated gifs, a nice font and many more. But it is better to stick with the less you can get. Try having the same improvements for your blog, but not having so much blogging tools. It will be better to select carefully what you need and not getting everything you find on your way.

Before starting to add tools to your blog, it is recommended that you learn as much as you can about these blogging tools. Not all tools that are available are necessarily needed. And if you inform yourself about the tools, you will find out that you can do the same things with less tools. You can have many of them and at a certain moment you will get to the conclusion that you haven’t used a big part of them. Of course, you can have them any time, but that doesn’t mean that you must have them.

Learn how to save tools and only use those that will really be helpful. If you would be used to check the traffic statistics, a visitors counter will be useless and will make no other thing than add unneeded clutter to your blog. Also, an interesting font for your site can only be needed if your blog also has something else besides text. On the other side, if the blog is text based, than a different aspect will be just for fun and not for profit. Even if the tool is offered to you for free, this doesn’t mean you have to have them all.
